Rich Freiler

Rich will be entering his 48th consecutive year of coaching spring/summer baseball. He has also coached an additional 14 Fall seasons. Rich is a 1969 graduate of Freedom High School, where he played under Coach Ray Salabsky.

He started coaching at Sacred Heart School in Bethlehem Township and at Freemansburg, where he started the junior legion program. He later moved on to coach at the senior legion level. He became the youngest President in FBT history, serving 3 years there.

He spent 2 years as an Assistant Coach under Harry Dudeck (former Liberty head coach) with the Bethlehem Wanderers legion team that reached the state senior legion regional semifinal. He coached the Easton teener program and then served as the soccer commissioner, baseball commissioner and was President of the Palmer Athletic Association for 4 years. He coached the Palmer teener and junior legion programs before being the head coach of the senior legion team for 16 years. The senior legion team won 3 divisional crowns while reaching the finals 3 consecutive seasons. The 2004 team played in the state regional finals, the first Palmer Township to do so in 25 years.

Rich was elected to the NORCO Hall of Fame in 2004 and served 10 years on the Rules Committee there. He was privileged to have coached MLB draftees Tyler Vail (Oakland A’s) and Justin Pacchiolli (San Diego Padres).

He ran the Twin River Longhorns and PA Dynasty travels teams and was an Assistant JV Coach at Notre Dame High School (Green Pond). Rich also ran one of the first two travel teams at LVBA ever had in 2008. He has coached several LVBA teams since then.
